Lifting
Efficacy Test
Facial Lifting and Eyelid Lifting are dermo-cosmetic preparations for a lifting effect on skin laxity that helps reduce the appearance of sagging signs of face, cheeks and neck, eyelids, eyebrows and forehead.
IN VITRO STUDY
An in vitro efficacy test was carried out on the Lifteina components.
The contraction technique on the collagen network allows to simulate the interactions that normally occur in in vivo conditions between skin cells (fibroblasts) and collagen fibres. A network of collagen and fibroblasts was placed in contact with the mixture of Lifteina components. At preset intervals (1, 3, 4 and 7 days) the lattice area was photographed and measured. The mechanical and biological ingredients determined a progressive “contraction” of the lattice area up to a reduction in the surface of 45% compared to T0.
These results are significant to determine Lifteina Complex “shrinking” capabilities on collagen fibres, which translate into a lifting effect on skin laxity in in vivo conditions.
IN VIVO STUDY
The clinical-instrumental, double blind, randomized and placebo-controlled study involved 40 female subjects (20 per each type of treatment), each of them presenting clinical signs characterized by a slight/moderate skin laxity condition and sagging of the facial features linked to chronological ageing.
The study shows that, already after 12 hours since the first application and after 8, 16, 30 and 60 days of use, the treatment Facial Lifting – First Third of the Face, Submental Area and Neck can promote a statistically significant reduction in the skin sagging and laxity conditions, while redefining facial features, cheeks and neck.
Face Contour
As for the facial features, the treatment with the active preparation determines a lifting and reshaping effect on every area of the lower part of the face oval. This action translates into average variations in the skin sagging of -0.71 mm, -0.93 mm, -1.25 mm, -1.80 mm and -2.05 mm respectively after 12 hours, 8, 16, 30 and 60 days.
Moreover, at the end of the treatment, the maximum result recorded for the active group in terms of skin sagging reduction on the face oval was -3.34 mm.
The variations in this parameter, that have been determined by the active preparation, are statistically higher than the results obtained for the group treated with the placebo.
First Third of the Face (Cheeks)
As for the first third of the face, i.e. the cheeks, the treatment with the active preparation determines a lifting effect with a reduction in the skin sagging on the two areas considered on the cheeks (Fig. 6b). This action translates into average variations in the analysed parameter of -1.08 mm, -1.21 mm, -1.29 mm, -1.75 mm and -2.01 mm respectively after 12 hours, 8, 16, 30 and 60 days.
Moreover, at the end of the treatment, the maximum result recorded for the active group in terms of skin sagging reduction on the first third of the face was -3.30 mm.
The variations in this parameter, that have been determined by the active preparation, are statistically higher than the results obtained for the group treated with the placebo.
Neck
The treatment with the active preparation determines a lifting effect on the two areas considered on the neck, with reduction in the skin sagging. This action translates into average variations in the analysed parameter of -1.14 mm, -1.11 mm, -1.68 mm, -1.88 mm and -2.14 mm respectively after 12 hours, 8, 16, 30 and 60 days.
Moreover, at the end of the treatment, the maximum result recorded for the active group in terms of skin sagging reduction on the neck was -4.10 mm.
The variations in this parameter, that have been determined by the active preparation, are statistically higher than the results obtained for the group treated with the placebo.
In conclusion, from the results obtained in this clinical study, it comes to light that in the three treated areas (7 points) the average reduction in the SKIN SAGGING for the active group is equal to -0.98 mm, -1.08 mm, -1.41 mm, -1.81 mm and -2.07 mm respectively after 12 hours, 8, 16, 30 and 60 days.
Moreover, at the end of the treatment with the Facial Lifting Gel (16 days), 100% of the subjects taking part in the study presents an overall improvement in the skin sagging of face contours, cheeks and neck, and this percentage is kept constant up to the end of the study (60 days) with the additional use of the Facial Lifting Dense Cream.
Considering the first third of the face (cheeks), the average reduction in the skin laxity (R0 parameter) for the active group is equal to -2.3%, -4.4%, -7.0%, -10.3% and 13.8% respectively after 12 hours, 8, 16, 30 and 60 days. Consequently, the treatment Facial Lifting – First Third of the Face, Submental Area and Neck determines an increase in the skin firmness.
At the end of the treatment with the Facial Lifting Gel (16 days), 95% of the subjects taking part in the study presents an improvement in the skin laxity. The percentage of improved subjects is kept constant (95%) up to the end of the study (60 days) thanks to the additional use of the Facial Lifting Dense Cream. Also for the R0 parameter, the variations determined by the active product are statistically higher than the ones recorded for the group treated with the placebo.
